A GENERATION OF WOMEN REDEFINING MIDLIFE
(This is article #2 in our #RockYourSelfie series, to see article #1 click here) I think it’s really common to react with shock and dismay when we hear people say we are middle-aged. Although logistically true, many people (including myself) dread that term. I guess it’s because it has been sold badly to us for so long. Wouldn’t you agree? I remember when I was in my 20s and 30s I saw myself reflected everywhere I turned to whether it was in magazines, in billboards, in TV, in movies, and while I still see myself reflected in ads, it is not nearly as often as it used to be. Worse…

OVER 40 AND DEFINITELY NOT AFRAID TO SHOW IT
This is article #1 in our #RockYourSelfie series We don’t “selfie” enough I remember one day at work not too long ago when a 25-year old co-worker wanted to show me a picture of her dog and as she was searching her phone for it, I caught a glimpse of her camera roll. Sometimes, fully linked and clasped bracelets used to even fall clear off of me. So much has changed since I wrote 37…

Rocking Over 40 Selfie Movement
It’s time to start a Rocking Over 40 “selfie” movement. I’m not a huge fan of selfies myself, but I’ve noticed that women over 40 rarely posts selfies. I am sure we all have our particular reasons for not doing so, but if more of us posted them, perhaps advertisers and media at large wouldn’t be so quick to overlook or ignore this very lucrative market. 💪 We live in a society where youth and beauty are glorified, and little of what we see in social media is “real.” So it’s (high) time we take the filters off and show the world what real Rocking Over 40 (and over 50…
